This website uses strictly necessary cookies, without which it cannot work, and analytics cookies from Google Analytics, which help us understand which pages are being read.

Strictly necessary cookies require no consent — they deliver the service you explicitly requested. Analytics cookies do require your consent, which is why a bar appears on your first visit offering Accept all, Reject, or Settings for a choice per category. Until you choose, Google Analytics stores no cookies and does not recognise you.

Your choice is kept for 12 months in the amb_consent cookie. You can change or withdraw it at any time through the “Cookie settings” link at the bottom of every page — withdrawing is exactly as easy as giving consent. If you reject, any Google cookies already stored are deleted.

The wordpress_… and wp-settings-… cookies are only created after you sign in to the Member area or to the administration. A visitor who does not sign in and rejects analytics cookies receives only pll_language and amb_consent.

The site is delivered through Cloudflare’s network, which protects it against abuse. Where protection against automated traffic is enabled, Cloudflare may set a short-lived __cf_bm cookie (about 30 minutes). It serves security purposes only, does not track your behaviour across other websites, and is strictly necessary.

The forms on this site — contact, newsletter subscription and unsubscription, Member area sign-in and comments — are protected by Cloudflare Turnstile. The check establishes whether a request comes from a person or an automated program, and usually completes without asking you anything. For this purpose Cloudflare receives your IP address and technical details about your browser, and may store short-lived data in it. The check is strictly necessary to protect the forms from abuse, so it loads without consent and is not one of the categories in the cookie banner; it is not used for advertising and does not track you across other websites. Cloudflare is listed as a processor in section 4 of the Privacy Policy.

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and to see which pages are of interest. The service is provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. The data may be transferred to and processed by Google LLC in the United States on the basis of the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and standard contractual clauses.

The data processed includes a truncated IP address, device and browser type, approximate city-level location, the pages visited and the duration of the visit. We do not pass your name, email or any other directly identifying information to Google.

The legal basis is your consent — Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR. Until you give it, the Google tag runs in a no-storage mode (Google Consent Mode) and sets no cookies. You may withdraw your consent at any time through “Cookie settings” at the bottom of the page. Google additionally offers a browser opt-out add-on for Google Analytics.

How to manage cookies

You can delete stored cookies or block new ones at any time from your browser settings — usually under “Privacy and security”. The help pages of Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Edge describe the steps for each browser.

Please note that blocking strictly necessary cookies makes signing in to the Member area impossible, deleting pll_language will return the site to its default language, and deleting amb_consent will bring the choice bar back.

Changes

If we add another service that stores cookies in the future — embedded video or a map, for example — we will update this page and ask for your consent before any such cookies are stored.
